's ní raibh gal ann de'n ngaoith do chroithfeadh bárr craínn ná bláith. Do ghluaiseas ag machtnamh a 'm aon, gan aire agam air raon mo shiúbháil, dorus cille gur dhearc mé, 's an gconair réidh ar mo chionn. Do stad mé 's an dorus tsean, 'nar ghnáith almsanna a's aoídheacht, d'á ndáil don lobhair agus do'n lag, an tráth mhair luchd an tíghe. Bhídh forradh fiar air a thaobh, is cian ó cuireadh a chlódh, air a suigheadh saoíthe a's cliar, a's taistiollaich thriallta an róid. Shuidh mé síos le machtnamh lán, do léigeas mo lámh faoí m' ghruadh, gur thuit frasa diana déur, ó'm dhearcaibh air an bhféur anuas. A dúbhairt mé ann sin fá dhíth, a's mé ag caoídh go cúmhach, Do bhídh aímsir ann 'n a raibh, an teach-so go soilbh, súbhach.
