Inis Scit seems, as Mrs. Mary A. Hutton points out to me, the old name for the Skiddy (i.e. Skidd-y) Island, a little to the south-east of the entrance to Castlehaven, not three miles west of the entrance to Glandore Harbour, which was the site of the famous Tonn Clidna of Irish mythology. (See O'Donovan, Four Masters, A. D. 1557, note.)
