CHAPTER IX

31

Thereafter he went forward to Cashel of the Kings.32 Fingin33 son of Aed was then in Cashel before him. Moling visited him, and the king made him welcome. Moling asked Fingin for the site of an abbey-church. ‘It shall be given,’ says the king. There they rest that night. An angel comes to converse with Moling and said to him: ‘What business hast thou to be asking a place here, while there is a place ready for thee by the streampools of the Barrow, and a fire alive for thirty years there awaiting thee? And build thy church and thy patron saint's temple there and serve thy Lord therein.’

32

Now the talk of Moling and the angel was heard by the king, and he said to Moling on the morrow: ‘Go,’ saith he, ‘to the place which the angel has promised thee, and we will give thee every help that thou wilt need.’
