O'Dubhagains — This family now spell their name Duggan, which is a very ugly form of the name. O'Flaherty anglicised it Duvegan in the latter end of the seventeenth century, and in 1758 a very respectable man of the name, Dr. Michael Ignatius Dugan, of Dublin, wrote it Dugan, with a single g.
