Notes

We are very grateful to Dr Alan Mac an Bhaird, Andorra, for donating this proofed, edited and modernized copy of the Occitan text, and for lending his expertise in resolving queries. His annotated English translation is available at CELT in a separate file, T100079A. Supplementary material donated by him and appended to that file includes a document of safe-conduct issued by Richard II to Ramon de Perellós in September 1397, and Philip O'Sullivan Beare's incomplete Latin account of the story, available in .pdf format at http://www.ucc.ie/celt/L100079.pdf.
