Text has been checked and proofread twice. All corrections and supplied text are tagged.

Normalization

The electronic texts represents the edited text. The editors have renumbered the paragraphs; the original numbering is retained, where it deviates from this, in a sup resp="MH POR" tag. The electronic edition does not replicate the printed edition's italicising of Latin; however text in Latin is tagged as such. Line-breaks are numbered. Hyphenation has been brought in line with CELT practice.

Quotation

Quotation marks are tagged q.

Hyphenation

Soft hyphens are silently removed. When a hyphenated word (hard or soft) crosses a page or line break, the break is marked after the completion of the hyphenated word.

Segmentation

div0=the individual saint's Life; page-breaks and line-breaks are marked. Paragraphs are marked and numbered. Metrical texts are embedded as separate texts, with quatrains marked and numbered.

Interpretation

Personal names and place names have not been tagged. Such tagging is envisaged in a future edition.
