St. Grellan afterwards erected a church here, which became a parish church. It is now called in Irish by the same name, and correctly anglicised Kilclooney. The ruins of the old church of this name stand on a remarkable eiscir, or low ridge, not far to the north west of the town of Ballinasloe, in the barony of Clonmacowen, in the east of the county of Galway.See Map.
