Set out early from Millstreet (at 7) & at 11 1/2 [o'clock] reached Killarney. We had desperate heavy rain. The road is through a dreary but very improveable Mountain. One mile from Killarney are fine oak Woods. The great Inn Mrs Hamilton's was full so we went to the second Coffee's & were obliged to take lodgings for Mary4 & William5 & me. The Bishop of Limerick's6 visitation was held here this day. He sent to ask me to dinner twice but I did not hear the message till 6 o clock. I went in the evening to see him.
