Nach Olden's UntersuchungenProceedings of the R.I.A. 1883, S. 219. Olden hat aber nicht gesehen, dass unser Mac Cosse identisch ist mit Airbertach mac Coisidobráin, der als airchennach von Ross Ailithir im Jahre 1016 (AU.) gestorben ist. war Mac Cosse im letzten Drittel des 10. Jahrhunderts an der Klosterschule von Ross Ailithir, jetzt Ross Carbery im Südwesten der Grafschaft Cork, als fer légind thätig. Der Schreiber, welcher im Jahre 1072—73 diese Verse auf fo. 38a des Palatinus an den Rand geschrieben hat,S. Güterbock, a.a.O., S. 94. war gewiss, wie die andern Schreiber desselben Kodex, ein Südire und hat vielleicht in Ross Ailithir seine Bildung erhalten.
