Sources

    Manuscript sources
  1. Dublin, Trinity College Library, H 3 18, bound up in two volumes. The text is in the second volume, pp. 771–809, and written on paper. The copy was made in the 17th century, possibly from the original itself, by a careful scribe who also copied the colophon, which tells us 'that the Irish version was made in the second decade of the 16th century by Muirghes mac Páidin í Maoilchonaire, or Maurice O'Mulconry.' (Meyer)
  2. Dublin, Royal Irish Academy, Stowe, MS C. II, 2; 16th century, a small vellum quarto; fo. 45a2–52a2 contain chapters 1–22, 'based on O'Mulconry's version, the archaisms of which it replaces by more modern words and turns.' (Meyer). Meyer edited this on pp 120–143.
